Design
The Toyota FJ Cruiser represents a terrific automotive value. Juan "JT" Torres from our Huntington Beach location, remembers seeing Toyota off-road vehicles when he was growing up. The paint scheme on this FJ and the quilted upholstery pays tribute to those vehicles. What was cool then, can be cool again. Of course, since many of these FJ Cruisers will find their way to beach camp-outs, a tail-gate monitor was necessary for late-night movie watching. Trick wheels, big fat tires and an awesome Al & Ed's sound system finish this vehicle off nicely.
Installation
The factory radio was replaced with an Alpine IVAW200 multi-media station. Whether the driver wants to listen to his iPod or satellite radio, or play movies to the tailgate monitor, this unit does it all. The doors were completely rebuilt to house a set of Alpine Type-R speakers, while JT's custom amp and sub enclosures trick out the rear. The vehcle's interior was sent out for a retro-inspired, quilted leather upgrade. Subtle paint treatments on the roof and the dashboard and other trim panels make the vehicle visually interesting without being overpowering. Wheels and tires were bolted on, and the vehicle received one of JT's perfect tint jobs.
