000_scioniqycAs expected, Toyota’s youthful Scion division will indeed get a version of the diminutive iQ for the North American market, possibly by either the end of 2010 as an ‘11 model or in early 2011 as a ‘12 model. According to Motor Trend, the car will cost about the same as the Yaris and get the usual modifications for the American market, such as slightly extended bumpers and recalibrated airbags. (more…)

accordhatch1-950-thumb-555x350We heard it was coming, but we didn’t think it would look quite like this. This 2010 Honda Accord hatch, or Crosshatch, or whatever it’s going to be called was spotted on a trip through Las Vegas. (more…)

nokia-phone

Pardon the cliche, but it’s one of the holiest of Holy Grails of technology: Wireless power. And while early lab experiments have been able to “beam” electricity a few feet to power a light bulb, the day when our laptops and cell phones can charge without having to plug them in to a wall socket still seems decades in the future. 16ipod

Did Al & Eds Autosound in West Hollywood,Ca inspire Ferrari to use an iPod as the radio in the new Scuderia 16M just like we did two years ago in the F50?

We will never know the answer to that but it seems possible. This weekend I was visiting a Ferrari dealership and noticed something that nobody knew anything about nor did we know was coming! If you choose an iPod interface as an option for your new Ferrari F430 Scuderia 16M there is no radio. Instead it comes with an iPod that has the “Prancing Horse” preloaded to your iPod Touch screen saver and additional Ferrari exhaust notes. (more…)

audi_q7_v12_tdi_01Last year, Audi announced the most insane version of its Q7 SUV yet in the form of the V12 TDI. The V12 is an all-new diesel engine that, for now at least, only has a home in the Q7, but at some future date, it may appear in some other VW group products (think: Bentley). The V12 produces 500 hp and a ridiculous 758 lb-ft of torque, enough to get the 2.5-ton SUV to 62 mph in 5.5 seconds. (more…)

mantide

Mr Castriota showed his latest creation at the Shanghai auto show earlier this month. Teaser images have been appearing on the company’s Web site and will track the car on the show circuit.

Mr. Castriota chose the Corvette for the Mantide as an intentional gesture of support for General Motors in its time of crisis, although Bertone’s financial hopes are more closely tied to working for the Chinese industry than the American one. The Mantide’s price tag? Just shy of $2 million.
