The M1400 Marine Subwoofer Amplifier with advanced feature sets and patented output circuit designs. All-aluminum chassis, marine-grade stainless-steel fasteners and marine-grade brass connection blocks to prevent corrosion. White powder-coated main extrusion with gray powder-coated end caps. Key Technologies of the M1400 Mono Subwoofer Marine Amplifiers:

Patented Class D Circuitry
JL Audio's Patented Class D output circuit utilizes a discrete control section and a unique feedback loop design that results in outstanding power regulation and a damping factor greater than 500 at 4 ohms (>250 at 2 ohms). This is vastly higher than other Class D designs and also higher than most Class A/B amplifiers. The benefit of this exclusive JL Audio technology is tight, clean bass reproduction with the efficiency advantage of Class D. It is a package tailor-made for serious bass performance.

Active Crossover Features
The active crossover sections of the M-Series amplifiers offer excellent flexibility and precise tuneability

Switchable 12dB/octave Butterworth or 24dB/octave Linkwitz/Riley filter alignments
Low-Pass only
Fully-variable frequency selection from 40-200 Hz
Defeatable for use with external crossovers

Bass Control Features
The bass boost circuit of the M-Series amplifiers can be operated with or without the optional RBC-1 controller.

Without a connected RBC-1, the "Bass Boost" switch activates a +6dB boost centered at 48 Hz.
A connection for a Remote Bass Control (sold separately) allows fully variable boost control (0 to +15dB).

Advanced Rollback Protection System
Should an M-series amplifier ever overheat, its intelligent, unregulated power supply reacts by limiting available peak voltage until the amplifier returns to a safe temperature range. Likewise, if an impedance lower than optimal for the amplifier is present at the outputs, the M-series amplifier will roll back peak voltage to protect itself without shutting down. Benefit: The music just keeps on playing.

Intelligent Input Sections
JL Audio's differential-balanced input architecture effectively controls noise and ensures compatibility with a wide variety of source units, including most OEM systems.

Preamp Outputs
The preamp output sections permit multiple amplifiers to be easily interconnected.
