Engineered from the ground up as a marine platform, the M10W5 subwoofer delivers the kind of bass that has made JL Audio famous in the automotive sound arena. This is bass that will impress you, not only with its sheer level, but even more with its smoothness, balance and precision. The M10W5 is optimized for infinite-baffle operation so that it can be installed in a variety of locations, without the need for a dedicated enclosure, and is built like a tank to withstand the rigors of marine use.

Materials Testing:
Testing is critical to building products that will not only sound great in your boat, but will also sound great for many, many years.

Building serious marine products requires a real commitment to environmental testing and materials specification. To this end, JL Audio has invested in Ultraviolet testing chambers (to simulate years of sun exposure) and Salt Fog chambers (to simulate years of exposure to salt-water environments).

Materials Used:

Injection-molded mica-filled polypropylene cone bodies with synthetic rubber surrounds, specifically formulated with UV inhibitors for marine duty.
Marine-grade, synthetic fiber spiders with progressive roll designs to withstand high humidity.
Specifically engineered Centrex polymer baskets are corrosion and UV-resistant and encapsulate the woofer's motor system to prevent corrosion.
Gold-plated, marine-grade brass connection terminals
Marine-grade stainless steel mounting hardware is included.

Subwoofer Features:

Very long linear excursion for enhanced output and reduced distortion.
Specifically optimized for infinite-baffle applications for ease of installation.
JL Audio's proprietary Dynamic Motor Analysis (DMA) technology results in ultra-linear motor force over a long range of excursion and a wide range of power inputs to reduce distortion and improve sound quality.
Vented motor design with marine-grade, stainless steel rear diffuser plate keeps the voice coil cool over long periods of use.
