The Kenwood Excelon KAC-X20 amplifier is rated at 180 watts x 2 @ 4-ohms or 520 watts x 1 bridged. This amp is versatile in that it can drive a pair of full range or component speakers in stereo or one [or two] subwoofers in mono. With the built-in infrasonic filter, variable low-pass and high-pass filters you can dial in the frequencies to maximize your speakers or subwoofers performance. Kenwood's K-Stat technology gives you increased power and improved sound quality. Aluminum die cast heat sinks and fan cooling allow the amp to run hard and it will stay cool. The optional KCAWR10 wired control allows you to get up to an 18dB bass boost. With everything Kenwood put into it, the KACX20 is a very high quality, high performance amplifier.

Key Technologies of the KACX20 are:

K-Stat [Self Tracking Audio Transistor] - A specialized audio technology that uses slimmer transistors and a more compact ship design. This streamlined design results in lower distortion, reduced thermal resistance and increased power for improved sound quality.

Variable Low-pass Filter - Eliminates the higher frequencies from the woofers so they only reproduce bass. This gives you less distortion and better power handling letting the woofers pump out the bass you are looking for. Variable from 40Hz to 200Hz with a 24dB per octave slope.

Variable High-pass Filter - Eliminates the lower frequencies that the full range speakers were not meant to reproduce, This improves power handling so they can play louder with more clarity and less distortion. Variable from 40Hz to 200Hz with a 12dB per octave slope.

Built-in Infrasonic Filter - Eliminates the inaudible low bass that can add distortion and hamper your sub's performance. Set at 18dB @ 25Hz.

Built-in cooling fan - Very quite, brushless cooling fan so you can run the amp hard without any loss of power from overheating.

Phase Inverter - Switches the output 180 degree out of phase. This is used when an installation results in the subwoofer[s] being out of phase in the listening position. Flipping the switch will increase volume by putting the system back in phase.

Optional KCA-WR10 remote - Gives you an adjustable bass boost from 0-18dB and from 40Hz to 100Hz.
